FAQs

How to much tea do you use?

We recommend starting with 1 teaspoon of tea per 8 oz of water. Keep in mind most mugs hold more than 8 oz so if you want stronger tea add more loose leaf tea.

How to brew with loose leaf tea?

Loose leaf tea is not as much work as it seems. Just measure the amount of tea, add water, and remove the tea once it's done steeping.

We also have brewing accessories that make the brewing process......well a cup of tea.

  • Disposable tea bags: Add your tea to the bag and brew as you would any pre-bagged tea.

  • Stainless steel ball infusers: Squeeze the arms to open the ball. Fill the ball with your tea and place in hot water until brewed.

  • Tea infusers: These sit inside your mug and hold the tea. Pour hot water over the top and let steep.

How long should I brew my tea?

Check out our table of recommended brew times.

Why is my Mermaid Kisses tea blue/green?

Mermaid kisses is a peach jasmine green tea that also contains butterfly pea flowers. Butterfly pea flower is a natural pH indicator. It turns your tea blue in a neutral pH. The lower the pH or more acidic your water is the brighter blue and even violet the tea. The higher the pH and the tea will turn greenish.
